IWRM Karlsruhe side event - European Innovation for Sustainable Water Management: Users meet Researchers - 22 November 2012

European Innovation for Sustainable Water Management: Users meet Researchers

a WaterDiss2.0 side event at the IWRM Karlsruhe 2012

The presentations as well as conclusions from this side event are now available online. Please access them by choosing the respective presentation title below. A short summary article has also been published on the website of Ecologic Institute.

The side event ‘European Innovation for Sustainable Water Management: Users meet Researchers’ was organized in the framework of the WaterDiss2.0 project. The event was held in the Kongresszentrum in Karlsruhe on 22 November 2012 and was integrated into the IWRM 2012, which took place on 21 and 22 November 2012.

The event offered practitioners the opportunity to meet researchers of European Framework Programs (FP). Practitioners could inform themselves about innovation created through European scientific research. Researchers could ensure that potential users know about their research. The side event also aimed at building synergies across topics and EU projects and enhancing knowledge brokerage in the area of water research.

After a short introductory session, where each project coordinator highlighted the most important research output, a discussion about the barriers and facilitators as well as best practices for knowledge transfer and uptake took place, exploring options for knowledge brokerage.

The side event took place in the afternoon of the second day of the IWRM Karlsruhe 2012, after a poster session and the business forum in the morning.
